2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:

• your name, email address, telephone number and date of birth;
• booking, attendance, package and payment records;
• messages, enquiries and customer-service history;
• emergency-contact and health or accessibility information you choose to provide;
• signed waivers and records connected with safety or incidents;
• optional photography or filming consent; and
• basic technical information collected through our website and booking providers, such as device, browser and cookie information.

3. Why we use it

We use personal information to manage bookings and payments, deliver classes safely, communicate service information, respond to enquiries, administer packages, meet accounting and legal duties, handle complaints or legal claims, and improve our services.

Our usual lawful bases are performing our contract with you, complying with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in operating a safe and effective studio. Where we use health information, we ask for your explicit consent. Marketing and identifiable promotional photographs or video rely on separate optional consent where required.

4. Health information

Health information receives additional protection under UK data-protection law. We request only information reasonably needed to assess and support safe participation. It is available only to people who need it for safety, administration or a legal obligation, and it is not used for unrelated marketing.

You may withdraw health-data consent by emailing us. If the information is necessary for safety, withdrawing consent may mean that we cannot offer a class. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it was withdrawn.

5. Who receives information

We may share necessary information with instructors, Studio EMJ personnel where required for safety, and trusted service providers that support our business. These include Wix for bookings, forms, member accounts, packages and payments; payment processors selected at checkout; email and website providers; and professional advisers or authorities where legally required.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. International transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we rely on recognised safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism required by UK data-protection law.

7. How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary. Booking, payment and accounting records are generally retained for up to six years. Enquiries are normally kept for up to two years after the last contact. Waivers, health and safety records are retained while needed to provide services safely and for an appropriate period afterwards, taking account of age, insurance requirements and possible legal claims. Optional marketing consent records are kept until consent is withdrawn or no longer needed.

8. Your choices and rights

You may ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability where the law provides these rights. You may withdraw consent at any time. Contact us using the email above. We may need to confirm your identity before completing a request.
